Who doesn’t love a bowl of oatmeal in the morning? If you say you don’t, you’re either lying, or you just haven’t had my version of it! This banana oatmeal bowl is simple, easy to prepare, and incredibly healthy. It’s packed full of delicious fruit and nuts to give you a burst of fiber and energy to start your day off right.
Unlike other recipes, you won’t even need to stand in front of a stove constantly stirring these oats. Instead, you add water and mashed banana to let it soften at room temperature for at least ten minutes. It’s the most effortless breakfast meal! You can put the oats in the water while you begin cutting up your toppings to save on time.
It will take you less than five minutes to slice all the fruits and put your finished bowl together. This recipe makes enough oatmeal for two servings and yields about 381 calories each. Every ingredient provides a fantastic source of vitamins, protein, and fiber, regardless of the fruit or nut butter you choose to use.
I love to top my oat bowls with goji berries and a mix of nuts and seeds such as sunflower seeds, chopped hazelnuts, and walnuts. You can even try toasting your own granola and nuts for an added crunch and roasted flavor profile. Luckily, oats will taste delicious with any combination of toppings!
